The Salt-Kissed Silence of Al Khobar’s Corniche

The Salt-Kissed Silence of Al Khobar’s Corniche

Some places whisper secrets on the breeze, where the rhythm of the tides resonates with your very being. Al Khobar’s Corniche was such a place for me. It wasn’t the grandeur of sweeping vistas that captivated me, but the subtle beauty of the shoreline the cool sand beneath my bare feet,

the endless dialogue between the waves and the rocks, and the cries of seagulls overhead like ancient laments. I remember sitting on a weathered bench, with salt-laced air stinging my cheeks gently, watching the sun sink into the horizon, painting the sky in hues I had never witnessed before.

In that quietude, I understood the words of Anne Morrow Lindbergh:

“The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient… One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach waiting for a gift from the sea.”

And Al Khobar gifted me with a profound sense of stillness, a reminder of the beauty found in simply being present.
